Internet browsing speed very much related with bandwidth of connection and it is a big deal when cost is not reasonable or expensive or low bandwidth. In my case, slow connection due to low bandwidth by provider or ISP. But I optimized my browsing by taking some important changes in my browser settings.
We used to looking for information rather video or image frequently. So when we don’t need images and video we can disable it from settings which increase performance and make faster loading of Webpages.
Settings vary from browser to browser. I give you support for Internet explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

In case of Internet explorer, you will find it in Tools menu ->Internet options sub menu->Advanced Tab ->in box select Multimedia down scrolling scroll bar -> Now unmake show picture and play animation in Webpages.
In case of Mozilla Firefox, you can fix it from Tools menu -> options sub menu -> content tab then unmarked load image automatically.
This is one option for optimized browsing speed, there are also more options. Another option I am talking about is Block Pop-up from sites. If we do not block pop-up, it will take time to load page. But if we disable it then it will not load and our page loading time will reduce.
Block pop-up setting can be available in all browsers.
For explorer, you should go to Tools then Internet options, there you will find “privacy” tab, now check on the check box “Turn on pop-up blocker".
For Mozilla, you need to go Tools, then options, there you will find “content” tab, now check beside “Block pop-up windows”.
In case of other browser like chrome or opera etc you will find it in tools/options most of the time.
After follow above suggestion, I think you will get optimized speed for browsing and save your data consumption.
This is great contribution on this awesome screen subject. I must say thanks for the giving time to discuss and present it here for us.
