Windows operating system has by default system error recovery mechanism. If any critical error occurs in system due to hardware or software fault, then windows try to recover system from this stage. If fail to recover, then system will automatically restarts and creates a logfile for this error. After restart system will show a message regarding critical system recovery with error code for further assistance from vendor site and location of logfile. You can view the logfile from there.
But, if you do not want to restart your system for this reason and continue your current job, then you have to stop system feature manually because windows recommended system configuration enable automatic restart after any serious error and by default it required due to unstable state of system during the occurrence.
After reading above statements, still if you want to stop restart, you have to follow below steps:-

1. First go to Control Panel by clicking on windows Start button->then click on Settings menu->now click on Control Panel
2. A new window will open for Control Panel items, now click or double click on System icon or right click on system icon and click on Open.

3. Then System Properties window will open; here you have to click on “Advanced” tab.
4. In this tab you will find "Startup and Recovery" level, now click on Settings button.
5. A new window will open for Startup and Recovery; here you will find "System Failure" level.
6. Now unchecked Automatic Restart and click on Ok button to avoid restarts your PC automatically.
